Trust in Tangent API

Tangent API was developed with the utmost care towards creating a polished, professional, working, and extremely efficient product. Many countless hours were spent in developing this API. And more importantly, many, many hours were spent in developing an extensive testing suite that exercises Tangent API in every way possible.

As you have probably already seen, the API itself is pretty simple. Underneath that simplicity however, is a great deal of complexity. And it is of paramount importance that this complexity works as advertised. To that end, a testing suite was developed that accomplishes the following tasks:

• Test each and every method, property, and event in the API to make sure it works as expected.
• Test all known parameters of methods, for example, the different data types that can be sent and received.
• Test passing in invalid, null, and boundary-condition parameters to every method in the API.
• Speed-test many of the API methods by running them hundreds of times in a continuous for loop to make sure they can execute at high speeds and ensure there are no leakages of memory or resources. Speed-testing includes creating and destroying server and client objects, sending data, connecting and disconnecting, and starting up and shutting down.
• Run all of the unit tests under the different threading models, both apartment-threaded and free-threaded.

It is definitely not a light decision to put trust in using someone else's work. Tangent API was developed and tested with this in mind, and it was highly important to build a product that was dependable, efficient, and simple to use.
